The theme and purpose of #ClassicChallenges The Mixtape is to bring back real life bars, pain and struggle, while paying homage to those that paved the way. All of the instrumentals used were from songs that inspired and influenced Profit is some way to become the well rounded lyrical genius he is today. Profit felt like the state of hip hop was in a place that needed guidance, so now #ClassicChallenges is here to set the bar higher and inspire greatness. The Mixtape was created over a 6 month span by dropping video freestyles once a week over a range of classic hip hop beats from Mobb Deep’s Shook Ones to MC Eiht’s Straight Up Menace. Each week Profit attempted to out-do the previous week while gaining a cult following of active supporters and accumulating over 200,000 views on Facebook alone. His slick wordplay combined with vivid street tales and personal family struggles while denouncing all forms of mumble rap will keep your attention through 28 tracks of classics. When asked to briefly describe the Mixtape Profit says “it’s like Fabolous’ Friday Night Freestyles but on steroids and more personal.” You be the judge...
